Tenmoku Tea Bowl Collection
Tenmoku tea bowls
A new collection for 2021. Revisiting the techniques and glazes I was first introduced to whilst studying on the potters wheel in Japan, 25 years ago. This collection is made up of individual, one-off pieces, whilst also making up a tea bowl collection. Each tea bowl is thrown with the same weight of clay, textured with a Japanese wooden comb tool. Pourer with the same Tenmoku base glaze and dipped on the rim with the same copper green and rutile/cobalt glazes. Because of the nature of these glazes, the colouring will be very different in nature within each piece. Each bowl is numbered as an edition of the Tenmoku collection series.
